CREATE is particularly interested in developing work in the following areas, recognising and building on / bringing together learning from international work already being undertaken in these fields. Development of international practitioner-friendly manuals, training materials & capacity building support packages on:
- Aspects of working with children in street situations (e.g. creative communication approaches, education and vocational training programmes & national networks)
- Creative approaches to working with traumatised children
- Child rights-based approaches to programming in practice
- Child protection in emergencies
- Child protection – working with the media
- Community-based care for separated children
- International lessons learned on fostering and adoption
- Practising positive discipline with children
Training courses in the UK and internationally:
- Child Protection policies and procedures for UK-based international organisations
- Developing child protection policies and procedures with overseas offices and partner organisations
- Developing an advocacy strategy and involving children in advocacy
- Creative approaches to working with children in street situations
- Training on child rights and protection for actors within the child justice system.
